We're Moving!

{via}
Well, we finally settled on a nice duplex in South Austin. Now starts the tedious task of moving, so I'll be absent for a few days while we get things moved and set up. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you next week!

Modern Bohemian

I've always dreamed of buying an old house, or building, and creating a perfectly unique home for myself and my (future) family. That dream still has some time before it can be realized. For now, I must find a way to make my relatively modern duplex fit my personal style. I love an eclectic bohemian style, and want to find a functional way to fuse modern architecture with a funky old world aesthetic. I've been looking for inspirational homes that have created a happy medium between modern and vintage, and have found a some shining examples of well balanced style.

Stylish Home offices

We finally got a new place! I'm so excited! No more children running through the unit above us at all hours, no more maintenance guys walking into my house, no more a/c problems, no more parking issues... no more apartment life. We found a nice duplex in South Austin that is just what we were looking for. Now starts the moving process and then decorating! My favorite part! It's a two bedroom, so we get and actual guest room, which will also serve as my office. I've been looking for some stylish and creative ways to dress up my area and create a multifunctional space. Here are some inspirational space saving home offices that are getting my juices flowing.

Chic Closet Spaces

I desperately want to turn a room in my new house into a closet. I have quite a collection of clothing, shoes, purses, hats, scarves..... you name it, I've got ten. It's a little sad, but makes me happy. Truly my favorite part of the day is getting dressed. Choosing who I want to be for the day. Each day is different, having its own tone, and my wardrobe must reflect that feeling through color and style. I would love to be able to create an entire room devoted to my treasures, where I could disappear into my own little world of fashion. Here are a few closets that leave me green with envy and swooning in my stilettos.

Weekend Whimsy

I am going to spend the day with my two favorite girls, Keith, and some good friends. Two of our friends just had a baby, and we are going to meet the little one, as well as celebrate her mommie's birthday. My two little demons stayed with this couple for a few months while we were traveling, and haven't seen them or their dog in some time, so it's a long overdue reunion that I am most excited for. I hope you all have some great plans for this weekend and have a good one! See you Monday!

Things I Love From Etsy: August

As the weather begins to change again, it sets the stage for cool Autumn days, festive nights, and relaxing outings. Football season is beginning and bbq pits will be fired up, we will enjoy long walks in the cool evening air and watch the changing leaves fall, children will enjoy the fresh air playing outside and diving into piles of gathered leaves, we will sit on porch swings and watch the world slowly go by, we will pack up the car and head out into nature for relaxing adventures, we will gather together with loved ones to celebrate, and we will do this all in the great outdoors. Here is a collection of wonderful outdoor inspired creations from talented artist across the Etsy world.

Patio Perfection

{via}
In our search for a new place, there is one feature that we are unwavering on, an outdoor living space. Whether it be a large patio, a backyard, or a moderate fenced in area, there must be some form of relaxing/entertaining space. I've been seeing so many wonderfully executed patio and backyard designs that I simply cannot wait for the opportunity to create my own. I love to entertain, and will have to throw a housewarming party once we are settled in, which cannot disappoint my friends (several of whom are reading this, and thus gaining high expectations). I imagine it to look something like one of these. Don't judge me if some of them seem a little far fetched. A girl can dream can't she?

Wardrobe Envy: Carrie Bradshaw

{via}

Alright girls, how many of you are Sex and the City fans? I know that I time my workouts at my apartment gym around reruns that air on E! so that I can catch a glimpse of Carrie prancing around New York in sky high heels, and charmingly quirky outfits, on her way to some calamitous encounter with her latest squeeze. Am I alone? Season after season Patricia Field styled our fabulous four (Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte), and created four distinct fashion icons. Carrie's wardrobe helped skyrocket sales of labels such as Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier, Betsey Johnson, Christian Dior, Gucci, Chanel, Prada, Vera Wang, and who could forget Manolo Blahnik, just to skim the surface. Which of you has not pictured yourself dashing through the streets of New York, hailing a cab in six inch stilettos, impeccably styled, heading to brunch with your equally fashionable gal pals? Dreamy. Of the four ladies, I most identify with Carrie, both in style and personality, and find myself experiencing extreme wardrobe envy. These are a few of my favorite outfits over the years.
