Light Fixture Makeover

Living in a rental is not without challenges. Being a DIYer and an impatiently creative soul, it is hard for me not to rip out everything I dislike and replace it. There is also the fact that any work done to something that we do not own will not reap any rewards or benefits, except for the fact that we won't have to look at the ugly bits anymore.

With all of that said, there are ways to makeover things that are a little unsightly, like our current dining room light fixture. I gathered some wonderful ideas here, but haven't had the time to actualize them. So, for now, as an alternative, we've purchased some simple shades from Lowe's for $0.79 each. With some rough twine tied around each to give it a little interest and natural touch, it made our ugly fixture less of an eye sore. At least until we decide on something more suitable, or move. There you have it, an easy and affordable chandelier makeover.
