Espresso Martini

So, this week has been a little rough. Having my mind quite occupied, I didn't get much sleep last night, and found myself a little tired and stressed this afternoon. What does a girl do when she's in such a pickle?  Make a cocktail!

My cocktail of choice today? An Espresso Martini! A pick-me-up and a chill-me-out in one!

Recipe:

1oz Vanilla Vodka (I used 360 Vodka Madagascar Vanilla)
1oz Cold Brewed Espresso
3/4oz Irish Cream

Pour in a glass over ice, top with shaker, give it a good shake, and strain into a chilled martini glass.
Enjoy!

I'm Sick and Can't Sit

I've been getting clusters of allergy shots over the last month or so, and last week I started getting a higher dosage. I went for my shots yesterday, and went straight to the grocery store after. While shopping, I could feel my face and neck getting warm and irritated. By the time I got home, I was completely broken out in hives, from my forehead down to my calves! Ugh! Today, the hives are gone, but now I feel like I have a cold. Boo. But being the can't-sit-still kind of person I am, I reorganized my craft room (for the millionth time), using some awesome little glass jars I got from the dollar store, made some cards for some special folks, made a little hot toddy to keep me going, and some chocolate dipped pretzels topped with toffee bits, along with a few loads of laundry. Not bad for a sick day.

Spread on the Celebration

We were so happy with our spread this Fourth of July. We made bacon wrapped jalapenos, bison chili, potato salad, and heart shaped watermelon, to satisfy our celebratory appetite. Mmmm! Take a look.

Red, White, and Blue Breakfast

I'm back! Sorry about the long absence, but things have been a little hectic. My apologies. Anyway, I'm back with some fun Fourth of July festivities. First up is breakfast! This morning we made Red Velvet Pancakes and Cream Cheese Topping, recipe courtesy of Betty Crocker. I didn't use as much food coloring, so they were more dark pink, but they were tasty!
